MyPhone My27 Unboxing

MyPhone My27 Specs

Are you looking for a cheap Smart Phone this coming Christmas Season? Well, you might want to check out MyPhone's latest installment of their "My" series named My27.

With many local companies that offers a smart phone, I have decided to purchase a MyPhone Unit. Why? Because first and foremost, I have bought a TV qwerty phone of MyPhone the year 2010. And up to now, it is still functioning well except for the fast draining battery, which is quite normal for old aged units.

Secondly, the Lollipop version is the OS used by the My27. That means that there is no hustle to upgrade the operating system. Oh and by the way, MyPhone is giving away a free 8 years anniversary watch with every purchase of a My27 unit.

Now then, let us proceed in inspecting what's inside the box, shall we?

In the left hand corner, you will see the actual unit (with a pre-installed screen protector), a wall charger, a micro USB cord, a 3.5 mm earphone, the user manual, and the warranty card by MyPhone.

Meanwhile, in the right hand corner, you will see the free watch that was given by MyPhone. It has a leather strap, the map of the Philippines as its logo, nothing fancy. But hey, who's complaining? With a price tag of only Php 2,999, you have a 5 inch Quad Core Smart Phone plus a free watch. That's like hitting two birds with one stone. :)

Sample Camera Shots

To tell you frankly, all of the photographs that I have used in this post of mine were taken from the 8 megapixel shooter of the My27 (except for the selfie). I must say, that it is good enough. Most especially for its price. Unlike the cameras used in other local company phones, I must say that I am contented with the image quality provided by this unit.

It is also nice that the 5 megapixel front camera is decent enough to take selfies/groufies. Overall, if you are a person who is not that too much into details when it comes to taking photographs, then this unit can suffice your simple needs for a picture.

Gaming Performance

With a 1.3Ghz quad core processor, you would definitely have no problem in playing some games like temple run 1&2, hill climb racing, or even candy crush.

But since I wanted to try its gaming capability, I downloaded the game called "Dead Trigger 2". To my surprise, the unit did not have any problem in playing this game. No lag or whatsoever. But I have not yet tried playing this game on a medium or high graphic setting though.

Antutu Bench Mark

Here is the Antutu Bench Mark score of the My27. I have tried running the test for at least three times, and it still showed this score. It is just a normal score. But the Acer Liquid Z330's score is a little bit higher with a 17,000 rate. None the less, the Z330 is priced at 3,999. So I'm not complaining about that.

Personally, I consider the two point touch to be the only down side with this unit. It is a bit hard to type fast with only two point touch. It just somewhat messes up what you are typing. LOL! But you would get used to it.

Final Verdict

     Pros: Price (Php 2,999)
8mp rear camera (w/ flash), 5mp front camera
              freebie (watch)
battery (2000 mah), just uninstall "CLEAN MASTER", and
                                                                       install "GREENIFY"
              Good internet connection
              Responsive Screen

     Con: 2 point touch only
somewhat weak speaker when it comes to call

***: The Map of the Philippines is at the back cover of the phone. Some people don't mind the design, but some rant due to this. If you are not shy to let other people around you see the logo, then I am sure you would be just fine with this. But if you do mind the map logo, then just buy a jelly case/flip cover to hide the logo.
